Have an hour to spare? 🤔This soft and chewy focaccia loaded with sun-dried tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil can be made in just about 60 minutes! ⏰PRE-BAKING Q: Do you listen to music while you bake? What songs are on your playlist?INGREDIENTS: 2 c. AP Flour3/4 c. warm water1 package (7g) Platinum Yeast2 tbs. olive oil1 tsp. granulated sugar1/2 tsp. table salt1 jar (8.5 oz.) sun-dried tomatoes in olive oil10 fresh basil leaves, torn1 1/2 c. shredded mozzarellaLet`s get started 👇With a dough hook fitted on your stand mixer (or large bowl if hand kneading), combine flour, water, yeast, oil, sugar, and salt. Knead for 5 minutes, until dough is soft, smooth, and has formed a firm mass. Turn dough onto countertop and roll into large oval or rectangle - about 8x10 in.Place rolled dough on greased cooking sheet, cover with plastic wrap and let it rise for 25 min.Preheat the oven to 350°F. After the dough has risen, use your fingertips to create dimples evenly over the surface of the dough. (Like you`re playing piano. 🎹)It`s okay to press all the way down - the dough will reinflate quickly.Top your dough with sun-dried tomatoes and oil, runoff is okay. Add half of your torn basil leaves, reserving the rest for garnish.Add an even layer of cheese on top.Bake for 23-26 min., or until cooked through and cheese has melted. Times can vary based on how juicy/oily tomatoes are, amount of cheese, and oven. Watch your bread, not the clock.Remove from the oven, garnish with the rest of your basil. Braided Italian Bread 🤌Achieve a delicious, tender loaf with a encrusted sesame finish. This recipe uses a biga, or preferment, so be sure to plan ahead - for the best results you`ll want to let it sit overnight. Recipe 🔗 in our profile 👉 @redstaryeastTo make the Biga, mix together the ingredients in a bowl and wrap with plastic. On baking day, we incorporate the biga with the rest of the ingredients and mix. Use a dough hook, knead until dough is soft and smooth. (Can be done by hand)Transfer dough to a greased bowl and tuck it in with plastic wrap. Give the dough a quick 45-minute nap, punch it down, and lay it back down for another 45-60 minute nap. After the rise, divide the dough into three equal pieces and shape them into 16 inch ropes. Braid the ropes, tucking both ends under, and place on a greased baking sheet. Cover with plastic wrap/towel and let it rise for 90 more minutes. Preheat the oven to 425 F, meanwhile whisk together your egg wash and brush on top of the dough. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, and make sure you get a lot on top for the encrusted finish. Bake for 25-25 minutes, for a softer exterior go for a shorter time. For a crunchier result, go for longer. Internal temp should be 190 F.
